Grannys Blanket

 Evening all,

As my little one and husband have gone on a quick bike ride i thought what a great time to pop on the laptop and pop on what i have been doing... i have finally finished my grans blanket, it is quite big but i think she will love it (well hopefully) and in some pretty colours that i know my gran will like.

I finished it off with 3 rows of DC to keep in line with the colours and i think it gives it a nice finishing edge.

As you may tell.. i am very pleased with my first blanket and even as i was doing it so man ideas where popping into my head ofr the one i want to do for our bed... but i think it will have to wait as i have one to do for my mum and dad first and need to get a diddle on with it as need to send in over to Australia before christmas!  We have decided on Red, White and BLue colours for them... a bit of patriotism!!! but will keep updated as to my progress.

Still have lots of other unfisihed projects which annoys my husband a bit and he keeps telling me not to start anything else till I have finsihed at least one project... but as i have finsihed the blanket surely that is carte blanche for another!!lol!

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, enjoy the sun

Pretty Little Pin Cushions

 Evening all,

We have definately had a busy wekk... and have lots of lovely crochet projects on the go... i am definately having one of those weeks were i seem to be starting and getting so near to completing but get excited about moving onto the next project but have attached some pictures of one project i have managed to finish whish i am quite chuffed with how they have come out.

These are pretty little granny square pin cushions, they are three rounds of the granny square with a double crochet finish around the square in
corresponding colours and then the back i have kept plain to match with a double crochet stitch.

Then I have made the inner in felt and stuffed with wadding, the felt holds the neddles really well and have stuffed it really full so the sit well and the pins sit very well and then i have joined then by crocheting the edges together but not inside out, actually on the "show" side and i think it has finished them off very nicely.

They are great little things and would be great for stocking fillers for christmas for all those who just love things to do with sewing.

Sorry some blatent advertsing - we have them for sale in our folksy shop, link on the side and also on our facebook page at yellow.sunflowers.

We hope you like them, have a great week

Phone Socks

 Morning all,

Well after being inspired by http://annabooshouse.blogspot.com/ phone sock i thought i would have a go but change it round quite a bit, so what i have done is:

My very short instructions to cover my blackerry phone (can be adapted for any)
12 x chain
then as many rows of dc to fit in my phone
then crocheted up both sides and added a crochet flower held on with a pretty pink spotty button

I think it turned out lovely, was very pleased with myself so i thought why not make a few more so have kept them plain too with a pretty flower and matching button

I really liked this one... mainly because i really like the button, but i think these would make great stocking fillers ( think ahead as awlays) and i like the fact they are quite sinple to do.

I am going to have a go at elborating on them later, may do some stripes and have an idea to do the fold the opposite way which will give the bottom and side to be stiched but stitch it in pretty ribbon finished in a bow.. not sure how that will turn out but i think will give it a go as will make it look so different i think.

Hope you are all having a good week, hoping to get some time to look round lots of blogs tonight so looking forward to a nice cuppa and a look around.

Have  a good day, Tabs xx

What a Week

What a week its been, after a short spell in hospital (all now on the mend) and a meeting this afternoon that did not go quite as expected we are hoping the weekend has a more uplifting feeling as we have two birthdays to celebrate and one of them is our nephews 1st birthday which is so lovely and come round so fast!

I just wanted to share some pretty flowers that my lovely husband and my very good friend have given me over the past couple of days and some little cup cakes i made today which i love to bake and also love to eat! My little one loves to bake too and she can make some fabulous cakes so  hopefully she will be helping over the weekend as we have a birthday can for Nanny to make with lots of cupcakes and merguine kisses too!

Hope you all have a great weekend

Take care, Tabs xx

The Pink & Green One!

Evening all, and what a lovely evening it is, we have our french window fully open and the dogs are loving running in and out as they please.

well... have finally managed to finish my latest project, I really love the colours, the green was gien to me by my very good friend and thought it went really well with the pink and had been looking forward to trying a pattern i saw on another blog and many thanks to http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/ it is the seabreeze crochet patern stitch and have mixed it with 2 plain sqaures and i think it has truned out quite nice and have added some pretty crochet flowers fastened with what i thought was a little green flower shaped button but is infact a pale blue but still looks ok i think.

I have popped up a pic of the back as well and again took the inspiration of the seabreeze pattern and changed it slightly to one row of dc and then one row of tc but counting along to the 3rd stitch for the tc and again i think it turned out ok.

I really have got into my crochet and now my husband thinks i should maybe concentrate on a bigger and longer project... ( i think he is getting concerned with the amount of cushions of around!lol) and today i have purchased some huge balls of wool to start a blanket, have seen so many lovely blankets on other blogs i thought i just had to have a go, so will keep you posted to my progress... i think it is going to take some time.

We have a busy weekend planned of my lovely friend and her two fantastic boys visiting tomorrow and then we are off to a beautiful part of the costwolds, Bourton on the Water, to have lunch with my gran and Uncle and cousin... looking forward to it, hope you all have a great weekend too

take care, Tabs xx
