Hi

I couldn't resist popping a picture up of my latest crochet project... a long plain blue scarf for my lovely little girl (nothing pink and fancy as she is truely not girlie!) but we tried it on my other litte baby.... and she seemed to like it too... its the colder days coming.... my little westie likes her blankets and cuddles..  and i obviously like the cuddles too!

I used a treble stitch and looks good on a scarf... i use the dc most of the time but i thought i would make a change and i think it turned out quite well and is lovely and warm too.

Hope you all have a great weekend

Christmas

Hi

Well it has been some time since i posted, we have been busy getting back into the routine of school etc... but have managed to get a bit of crocheting done.

Thinking ahead to christmas have done two decorations so far, christmas pudding with a red button for my cherry and white and cream buttons for th white sauce and then red and white buttons for the baubles on the christmas tree too... i think they have come out very well.

We have also gained a new dresser, she needs a touch up and then we are goining to paint and wax her, so will keep you all posted, am so pleased with it, courtesy of my lovely parents, i have already popped my sewing machine (courtesy of the mother in law) inside with all my sewing bits and the draws are ful of tubs with buttons in ( i know hey will all need to come out to paint her) but in the mean time she looks just fine.

Hope you are all keeping well and looking forward to having a float through blog land with a cuppa in a bit (once Jess is tucked up in bed)

Take care and have a good week all

Evening All,

Just a quick post as just had to share a pic of my bunting.

I have crocheted it in lovely simple triangles and then added them to a crochet "string".  The string is approx 250cm long and have done 9 triangles, am so pleased how it has turned out and now all i need is my dresser so i can make some to go on that... probably in blues and pinks.

Enjoy your evening

Little Hanging Hearts

Afternoon All

Well... little one is finally back at school and the crocheting is now flowing... when i say little one.. she is 9 (10 next april) so she is not that little really but will always be my baby!

Have added a selection of my crochet hanging hearts i have been making, they are corcheted in a dc stitich and amazingly was just experimenting on how to do it as i just couldn't do the granny stitch ones and i came up with these... i hae them down to a tee now so have been doing lots  (well 6 altogether)
and then have filled them with wading and added some pretty buttons and then tried them with ribbon to start with to hang them but it just didn't seem to quite go so my hubby suggested to crochet a row (chain) and hang them with that.. he can be quite clever sometimes... and they hae come out lovely... they also look good hung with lace.. i have one i made for our bedroon in cream with blue buttons that i hung with lace which looks lovely

This last one i crocheted a small heart and then added it on with a button to make it a bit different, i hope you like them i do have them for sale in my ebay store http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shabby-Chic-Crochet-Wool-Cream-Heart-Red-Buttons-/200649608653?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2eb7a60dcd  this link take you straight to the cream with red buttons (hopefully)

Anyway... i hoep you like them, am working on some bunting which i used the same method as my hearts, hope to finish it tonight and pop it on during the week,

Hope you all have a great week

Busy week

 Morning,

Sorry not been on to post for over a week but my lovely little one has had lots of appointments so has been keeping us very busy... she is waiting for a new liver so she has lots of check ups, we hd to pop to london yesterday for her check up at kings hospital and although we were a bit apprehensive as her appointment was a 4pm everything was good... but she is doing "a" ok so back to the waiting game (been 8 months now due to the type of transplant she needs).

Anyway... onto more crafty things... yes.. still have lots of projects on the go and i am trying to get in the mind set to finish them all.. but this is one that i have finished... it is a striped cuchsion that i think turned our quite nice... it ook some time as is all DC and with the colour changes etc but kept the back plain, it loos a different blue... must be the light but is is the same blue as on the front of the cushion... and have started my dad and mums blanket for christmas to send to Australia... have chosen red, white and blue... very patriotic, and have decided to do granny suares which i think is much more time consuming than continually going round like i did previously for my gran but i think it will look great as the clours are lovely and bright.

Well had better get a diddle on as we have some appointments this afternoon and then we are appointment free until we are back to school.. always nice,

take care and hope you have  a great weekend

Grannys Blanket

 Evening all,

As my little one and husband have gone on a quick bike ride i thought what a great time to pop on the laptop and pop on what i have been doing... i have finally finished my grans blanket, it is quite big but i think she will love it (well hopefully) and in some pretty colours that i know my gran will like.

I finished it off with 3 rows of DC to keep in line with the colours and i think it gives it a nice finishing edge.

As you may tell.. i am very pleased with my first blanket and even as i was doing it so man ideas where popping into my head ofr the one i want to do for our bed... but i think it will have to wait as i have one to do for my mum and dad first and need to get a diddle on with it as need to send in over to Australia before christmas!  We have decided on Red, White and BLue colours for them... a bit of patriotism!!! but will keep updated as to my progress.

Still have lots of other unfisihed projects which annoys my husband a bit and he keeps telling me not to start anything else till I have finsihed at least one project... but as i have finsihed the blanket surely that is carte blanche for another!!lol!

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, enjoy the sun

Pretty Little Pin Cushions

 Evening all,

We have definately had a busy wekk... and have lots of lovely crochet projects on the go... i am definately having one of those weeks were i seem to be starting and getting so near to completing but get excited about moving onto the next project but have attached some pictures of one project i have managed to finish whish i am quite chuffed with how they have come out.

These are pretty little granny square pin cushions, they are three rounds of the granny square with a double crochet finish around the square in
corresponding colours and then the back i have kept plain to match with a double crochet stitch.

Then I have made the inner in felt and stuffed with wadding, the felt holds the neddles really well and have stuffed it really full so the sit well and the pins sit very well and then i have joined then by crocheting the edges together but not inside out, actually on the "show" side and i think it has finished them off very nicely.

They are great little things and would be great for stocking fillers for christmas for all those who just love things to do with sewing.

Sorry some blatent advertsing - we have them for sale in our folksy shop, link on the side and also on our facebook page at yellow.sunflowers.

We hope you like them, have a great week

Phone Socks

 Morning all,

Well after being inspired by http://annabooshouse.blogspot.com/ phone sock i thought i would have a go but change it round quite a bit, so what i have done is:

My very short instructions to cover my blackerry phone (can be adapted for any)
12 x chain
then as many rows of dc to fit in my phone
then crocheted up both sides and added a crochet flower held on with a pretty pink spotty button

I think it turned out lovely, was very pleased with myself so i thought why not make a few more so have kept them plain too with a pretty flower and matching button

I really liked this one... mainly because i really like the button, but i think these would make great stocking fillers ( think ahead as awlays) and i like the fact they are quite sinple to do.

I am going to have a go at elborating on them later, may do some stripes and have an idea to do the fold the opposite way which will give the bottom and side to be stiched but stitch it in pretty ribbon finished in a bow.. not sure how that will turn out but i think will give it a go as will make it look so different i think.

Hope you are all having a good week, hoping to get some time to look round lots of blogs tonight so looking forward to a nice cuppa and a look around.

Have  a good day, Tabs xx

What a Week

What a week its been, after a short spell in hospital (all now on the mend) and a meeting this afternoon that did not go quite as expected we are hoping the weekend has a more uplifting feeling as we have two birthdays to celebrate and one of them is our nephews 1st birthday which is so lovely and come round so fast!

I just wanted to share some pretty flowers that my lovely husband and my very good friend have given me over the past couple of days and some little cup cakes i made today which i love to bake and also love to eat! My little one loves to bake too and she can make some fabulous cakes so  hopefully she will be helping over the weekend as we have a birthday can for Nanny to make with lots of cupcakes and merguine kisses too!

Hope you all have a great weekend

Take care, Tabs xx

The Pink & Green One!

Evening all, and what a lovely evening it is, we have our french window fully open and the dogs are loving running in and out as they please.

well... have finally managed to finish my latest project, I really love the colours, the green was gien to me by my very good friend and thought it went really well with the pink and had been looking forward to trying a pattern i saw on another blog and many thanks to http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/ it is the seabreeze crochet patern stitch and have mixed it with 2 plain sqaures and i think it has truned out quite nice and have added some pretty crochet flowers fastened with what i thought was a little green flower shaped button but is infact a pale blue but still looks ok i think.

I have popped up a pic of the back as well and again took the inspiration of the seabreeze pattern and changed it slightly to one row of dc and then one row of tc but counting along to the 3rd stitch for the tc and again i think it turned out ok.

I really have got into my crochet and now my husband thinks i should maybe concentrate on a bigger and longer project... ( i think he is getting concerned with the amount of cushions of around!lol) and today i have purchased some huge balls of wool to start a blanket, have seen so many lovely blankets on other blogs i thought i just had to have a go, so will keep you posted to my progress... i think it is going to take some time.

We have a busy weekend planned of my lovely friend and her two fantastic boys visiting tomorrow and then we are off to a beautiful part of the costwolds, Bourton on the Water, to have lunch with my gran and Uncle and cousin... looking forward to it, hope you all have a great weekend too

take care, Tabs xx

Hearts & Flowers

Hi, I was so busy looking at loads of other wonderful blogs last night that i forgot to put my post up!
I have been crocheting some hearts and flowers, the hearts are so pretty and I followed the pattern from http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/crochet/ they are tiny little hearts and she makes the most beautiful crochet items (along wth lots of other wonderful things too) and shares patterns, definately worth a visit.

The flowers are from a tutorial on You Tube, i just couldn't get it right the first few gos not having enough holes from the first round to complete all the petals so i started doing 12 dc  instead of the 10 and then found i had 6 petals instead of 5 which i think look great, these are great to add to different projects or as my friend has used them on a gift card ( she is much more crafty talented than me) but hope you like them.

We have just moved house so everything is a bit topsy turvey here but still managing to get my crochet in so hopefully some more things to share soon.

Many thanks for looking  and have a good week x

Wednesday 22 June 2011

Just wanted to share the granny square crocheted cushion i have finally finished, it is in 2 shades of purple and have done a solid dark purple back, this was my first attempt at the granny square and i am very pleased with how it turned out and think the colours really compliment each, my very good friend showed my how to crochet in this style as i only knew how to do single rows  (which i think is a dc stitch) and although they looked good in the dc i think the granny stitch is lovely too, am hoping to do some crochet hearts tonight, i found the instructions on a website that... yes... you guessed it.. my very good friend told me about... Attic 24, she has amazing projects on the go and shares lovely instructions on how to do different things, it is definately a website wrth a visit and not just for crocheting, many thanks for looking and have a good night x

Monday 20 June 2011

Hi, well.. i have been very busy with my crocheting over the past view days and have two projects nearly finished so hope to be able to pop some pictures on soon but i need to crochet some nice big flowers as have been looking at other peoples instructions to get some great ideas, thank you for sharing, and also my very good friend has directed me to lots of different blogs and websites for inspiration too, hope to add them soon, thanks x

Thursday 16 June 2011

Hello.... my very first blog, I have recently started crocheting, it is very relaxing and get a lovely thing at the end of it, this was my second attempt and think it has turned out quite well...
The flowers were meant to be 5 petals each but did too  many loops and they have 6 which i think looks good too and have fixed them on with pretty buttons.
My very best friend has recently shown me how to do the "granny" stitching and am having a go a making a larger cushion using "granny" squares in the same colours so will pop it on and see what you think...
Well had better get back to my crocheting, thanks for reading x
